Key + Key Fob Conversion to a Flip Key
I am looking to convert my key and key fob into a flip key. I am interested in doing this because it would take up less space in my pocket, is more convenient, and simply looks better.
Does anyone have any tips with a project such as this? successes or failures?
This is the key fob I am interested in purchasing: Click Here
I received a quote from a local locksmith. He would be able to cut the key for $6. So this project should be under $30.
This is for my 2002 Honda Accord SE

In the ebay seller's ad, the key fob has no transponder chip. It states, "You will have to take apart your old key to remove the transponder chip, then transfer the transponder chip and the remote electronics from your old remote into this case and have a locksmith cut the key"
On the 2002 Accord, the key transponder chip for the Immobilizer system is encased by the plastic for the key. You'll have to cut apart the plastic.
In addition, sounds like you'll have to transfer the electronics from your remote transmitter key fob for the security system into the ebay switch blade key fob.
This link shows how the Immobilizer system keys are a 6th gen Accord.

There should be no PCM programming for the Immobilizer system if you use the original key transponder.
