Default Lucas Transmission Fix

Has anyone used Lucas Transmission Fix (or anything like it) before? I have a 97 Accord SE. 200,000 miles. 4 cyclinder. auto transmission. The transmission is slipping and leaking fluid. I've been quoted at $1800 to repair it. I don't want to put that kind of $ into this car and plan on driving it until it dies. Will this stuff extend the life of my transmission?

In general, how long can a car last once it has slipping problems? I have flushed the tranny fluid and as far as I can tell, the car is riding the same. It grinds on my first acceleration, but is fine after that. Thanks.

I would probably give the Lucas a shot. What do you have to lose?

Used something like it in a 1991 5.0 Mustang LX. The trans fluid had been leaking a little and sometimes I would shift the trans into drive but it wouldn't go for a minute. Sometimes I would be sitting at a red light and the trans wouldn't pull for a second or too as well.
I didn't use Lucas brand (just bought some store brand "transmission stop leak." Seemed to work ok. As long as I kept the trans fluid full, the slipping stopped. I didn't have any grinding though.
I have heard good things about Lucas. I would give it a whirl if I were you.

if you just get the trans maybe 300, get the torque converter also tho.

not sure about the ULEV tho.
