overdrive cable help?

you shouldn’t burn out any clutches from the TB trans cable. Fallow the cable to the trans and make sure it's tight...but not 2 tight. It's adjustable at the trans itself..might be little hard to get to tho.

"Overdrive cable"???
Are you talking about the throttle cable that goes from the throttlebody down to the trans?
It should be adjusted so the transmission lever just begins to move at exactly the same time the throttle begins to move.
First loosen the cable a bit to be sure you know where the "starting" point is at the tranny-end of the cable. Then tighten it just enough to remove the slack.

There should be a couple nuts where the cable housing is clamped to a bracket at the throttlebody. Loosen those & work them up or down - the cable housing should have a long threaded end for all kinds of adjustment.
Maybe the actual cable end isn't wound properly around the drum of the throttle shaft?
