Default Auto Headlight Sensor Problem (I Think)

I have a 2011 Accord V6 with Navigation. I leave my headlights on "auto" mode. Sometime I can be driving along on a sunny bright afternoon and all of a sudden the headlights go on (which puts the navigation screen into night time mode making it unreadable). It happens on wide open roads (no tunnels or underpasses that might cause the lights to go on). This is a sporadic thing but very annoying (and potentially dangerous). The dealer has said there is nothing they can do unless they can actually see it happen. They said they called Honda to see if anyone else had this experience and got nothing back.

What do you think? How can I get this corrected by Honda??

Make sure there is nothing on the dash - if the sensor gets covered, it would turn to night mode. Question for you - how do you get the NAV system in AUTO mode? Mine is currently set to manual, so I need to hit the button to switch over when it gets too dark (light)

Now that I've had my 2011 for a few weeks, I also notice that the sensor is extremely sensitive.
If the clouds move in front of the sun, or it is an over cast day - it turns the lights on (and switches the NAV to night mode).
I'm going to contact the service center to see if it can be adjusted
