Default Power Window Issue

I have a ? concerning issues with the drivers side power window on my 97 Accord EX. I believe the motor may be on its last leg again. The window has always been sluggish even after replacing the motor a couple years ago. It usually makes it half way and starts clicking and then sometimes stops. It seems worse when its colder outside and also worse when sitting with engine off as opposed to cruising at speed. This make me wonder if its a switch issue sometimes rather than the motor itself. Any suggestions? Thanks.

sounds like either an adjustment, dirty track or motor issue, I don't think it's the switch. I think that your track is mega dirty and that's why it still rolled up so slow after replacing the motor. That in turn put extra strain on the new motor and frayed the wire cable. Check out our DIY section I have a writeup on replacement if you want to do it yourself

I would clean the tracks before doing anything else: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/m_77869/tm.htm

Thanks for the responses. I'll try a little cleaning and lubricating of the tracks first and see if that seems to help. Then maybe I can make a judgement call on a new motor improving the situation. I'm a cheapskate do-it-yourselfer on most things and replaced the motor/regulator with an aftermarket replacement from the internet last time around. I don't mind the work and can usually figure out how to get the job done.

if it is the motor get one from 1aauto.com, they're cheap, high quality and lifetime warranty.
