Default Radio Reset

I have a 2003 Accord. The radio needs to be reset. I found the five digit code in the glove department on a label. I turned the car on and entered the code. The radio didn’t’ reset. I tried this 10 times before it locked me out. I unhooked the negative battery cable for about five minutes. Reconnected the battery cable and turned on the car. The radio displayed the word code again. I entered the five digit code again. Again the radio did not reset.

This started one day because it was raining real hard. I left work, and the check engine light came lit up on the dashboard. I read on goggles about unhooking the battery to get the check engine light to go off. Now I have the check engine light on and the radio doesn't work.

Is there a certain sequence of procedures you need to do to get the radio to work again? Does the key just need to be turn on and the engine not running. Could it be possible the code isn’t right? There has to be more to it than just the five digit code because the radio isn’t resetting.

Thanks

Default RE: Radio Reset

this happened to me once. yea it does lock you after 10 tries.

you want to leave your car on, not the engine, for an hour and then you will be able to reset it to the proper 5 digit code. should be good after that
