Default 95 Accord starts but immediately dies... help!

I have a 95 accord v6 automatic. havent had too many problems with it. now it will turn over and start for a split second and then it dies. i don't even know where to start to find the problem with it. a guy i work with thought it could be the neutral saftey switch.. but i really wouldn't know..

any info would help..

thanks

If it was the neutral safety switch it would start at all.

Do you hear your fuel pump prime in the "II" position?

Any check engine lights?

Sounds like a fuel problem if it starts then dies.

Does it seem to die just as you let go of the key?

Kind of sounds like a bad key switch. Key in the on/pos II, can you check for 12v on the BLK/YEL wire at the dist?

ya as soon as you think its gonna start and run and let go of the key it dies.. i actually was messin earlier and if you hold the key to where the starter is keeping the motor turnin over it runs.. what does it mean if there is no juice to the blk/yel wire.. i just got off work so i will have to check it in the morning..

could it be anything to do with the distributor? my grandpa said it sounds like it could be gettin moisture in the distributor or something..

I'm betting the electrical part of the key switch, kind of common. You can test the output at the key switch.

My pleasure.....I'm 99% sure it is the switch, just always want to test before replacing.....no power to the BLK/YEL at the dist, the key switch isn't "sending" power, or a broken wire.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.
