TPS Problem
Hi everyone,
I have a 2000 Honda Accord LX (134,000 miles), with the 2.3L 4cyl. The CEL came on and a friend pulled the code for me. It read as; P0122 TPS Pedal Position Sensor A, Circut low imput. It looks like the TPS is rivited to the Throttle Body, and I've read that with some of these the whole TB needs to be replaced when they go bad. Is this true?
If so, what are the options for TB's.
Thanks,
Eric

RE: TPS Problem
TPS was not a replaceable part on earlier models and probably still the same. A new or used throttle body is probably the only option for replacement.
I would carefully check the connectors and wiring. Check from ECM input connector to TPS connector for a good wire and connector. The fault could be due to heat or wire pinching/cutting.
I've found that a liberal dose of WD40 or similar contact cleaner can have wonderful restorative ability on some type of electrical faults. It's cheap and worth a try. You need to get some inside the TPS housing which is normally sealed.
good luck

I'll give that a try try before going for a new one.
Hahaha. I was thinking this was a problem with the TPS reports....
