I have an 06 accord lx and I accidently threw my keys down the trash shoot. I live in an apartment complex so I am worried that someone found them. Is there any way to temporarily disable my keyless entry? Is there a way to permantly disable it? If I go to my dealer will I be able to get my car reprogrammed? If I can is it expensive? Do you guys have any other suggestions?

That will make it so ONLY the keys you use in step 7 will work for keyless entry. If you dig thru the garbage & find your key, you can do that procedure over again to reinstate that key.

A dealer or sometimes a locksmith or independant Honda repair shop can use their scan tool to perform a similar procedure for the immobilizer. That will prevent the lost key from starting the engine.

The only way to prevent the lost key from opening the door is to re-key all the locks.

Looks to me like JimBlake said it all! I sure can't think of anything else!
Well...besides checking to see if your apartment complex has a "lost and found" in the front office. You never know...someone may have found them & turned them in!
