Default Weird, loud, annoying grinding sound

There is a grinding and rattling sound coming from beneath the car. Now that the better is getting better, it is so much more annoying and unbearable. It is only there around 2000 RPMs and slightly around 4000 RPMs. It is really annoying. It is only there during accelerationI have read that it could be the heat shield or the catalytic converter. Is there anything I can try to do to fix this?

Can you get under the car - use safety - and look at the heat shields.

Well there are a few. The one(s) I would inspect first are around the "cats". There is an upper and lower shield. At the corners of the cat should be a bolt......four on top and four under. Give each corner of the shield (eight total) a push/pull and see if any are loose.
