I have a 1995 LX and today while driving the washer fluid randomly started spraying until it ran out. The wipers continued to run non stop. My wiper switch was off. Come to find out, somehow, my washer fluid motor was constantly running and that was why my wipers kept going. I figured out that it was running off of my headlight switch. When I turned my headlights off, it would stop. Anyone ever encountered this? Any ideas where I should even start to troubleshoot this?

 

Most likely explanation is a short in the harnesses in the steering column shorting wipers to light switch. These are totally separate systems from the wiring diagram.

Hard to believe. Anyone been working on something under the dash?

Ya, I don't know. I hadn't done any work under the column, just randomly started. I went in today and messed with the wires and some plugs, and somehow fixed it. Guess I removed the short. Oh well, just hope it doesn't happen again.
