Default Problem with File Attachment

I want to attach a PDF (3MB) with step-by-step instructions of my rebuild of a Honda Power Steering Pump (as I have done in the past). However, when I tried to upload the PDF file I get an error in the "Manage Attachments" window:

"Upload of file failed"

I have tried from different computers on different days with the same result.

Can anyone help me so that I can upload this write-up?

Thanks!
John

Strange? I'll try to contact Jason - IB Staff that helps us with tech issues on the site.

In the mean time, I'll PM you an e-mail address. Send it to me and let me see if I can attach it to a thread.

Thanks! I sent you the PDF file I am trying to attach. I am wondering if perhaps there is a total quota for cumulative uploads (that I might have reached)? However, the error message does not say that.

Thanks again for the help!

I don't think there is a "quota", if there was i'm sure I would have hit that by now.

I'm thinking - no IT person - this might be a "timeout" issue?

I sent Jason a PM with a link to this thread, haven't heard anything yet.

I tried to load it to this thread and got the same error message.

Sometimes I've had troubles uploading files to other places. Seems like I have more problems with Microsoft IE, and when I have a problem I just launch Firefox instead and it works. (that doesn't mean that I really understand WHY it has a problem...)

Thanks for the ideas. I tried IE, Firefox and Chrome and tried two different computers. All resulted in the same error message "Upload of File Failed".

Looks like the problem was that the file size was too big (3MB). I split it into two files (each ~1.5MB) and they uploaded fine (See DIY section).

I thought the size had been increased to 5MB... Maybe it is some other limitation on file size.

I heard from Jason yesterday, just replied today.

He was out last week. Anyway, I e-mailed him the pdf you sent me so he can "play" with it to see if he can figure out what is going on.
