Default 1999 Accord LX

I have a 99' LX Accord with the F23 VTEC engine and a 5spd. I have an APC Intake on the car already and i am loving it. The car has 119,000 on the odometer and the car runs like the first day it was driven off the showroom floor. im looking to make some more power and i was wondering if a DC Header, Magnaflow Exhaust, Nology HotWires and MSD Dist. Cap and coil will give me the power i am looking for. Right now the car has great low end and top end but i've heard that with headers you can lose some of your top/low end. I dont want that. I will also be ordering soon the Evotion Drop-Springs and a camber-kit and maybe some polyurethane bushings all the way around to get those beaten up bushings out. Thanks and i will appreciate all the help i can get.

Welcome,
and good luck with the mods, before you buy your headers, check out the dyno chartes on them. some manufactures will provide you with the dyno charts for their products, check out he comptech website to see what i mean.

you also may want to consider some form of engine managment system tta can tie all the mods together, finding a good tuner shop is alos key unless your
a mechanic yourself.

I have a 2000 accord with the j301a in it, im just starting look at some of the things you are doing, there are many many choices out there and you have to
ask a lot of questions of these manufactures befor you lay out you hard earned cash..

good luck and share your experiences with us all here.

Engine management is not gonna drag much power out of a non force-induced F23. I wouldn't spend $1,400 on a standalone for the limited power, so go cheap on tuning, ie.: A'pexi, Greddy, etc. All those mods will give you only around +/- 140 hp to the wheels.

Also ignition systems (MSD Coils and alike) must be custom fabbed to operate on the F23.

The cap. Basically alter the molding some how. Don't have the specifics with me right now. But I could give you some right up details in the future.
