Default catalytic converter

hey everytime i turn my engine off i hear a tink tink tink and it sounds like it is coming from the cat... i talked to a guy at a local racin place(who had the sickest R32 i have ever ever seen... prolly dumped 13K in it)and he said i could of fried it cause i have an aftermarket header... is this true and do i need to replace it and can a fried cat be bad????

Have him explain how a "tink tink" sound automatically means your cat is gone.

If you're not smelling rotten eggs, raw exhaust, getting horrible gas mileage, or have a huge loss in power, your cat is probably fine.

huh well it makes sense now i can smell the exhaust and my mpg has gone down.... so should i get a hiflow cat?????
