OBX 4-2-1 Headers f22b2
Well, just an FYI post here. I installed my new OBX 4-2-1 headers, which I bought off ebay for $162, yesterday. The installation was going well considering the car is 13 years old until I went to bolt on the dual pip to the manifold. The hardware I got with these suck! There are 3 bolts used to connect the two pipes together. All three of these bolts stripped out long before I reached OEM torque specs. On my second trip to the hardware store I opted to go with a smaller sized hardened bolts with heads, since they didnt have the dual threaded "block" type that came with the headers. These worked well, except for the added PAIN of trying to get a wrench on em to keep them from spinning.
There is definitely a noticable performance gain. But one downfall IMHO is the added sound. Its sounds good dont get me wrong, but the whole system seems much louder to me now and as a daily driver it may end up getting on my nerves - we'll see.
As for fitment, well, the fitment is perfect. Everything came together perfectly. I started from the Cat and worked my way up.
1. remove old manifold and downpipe to CAT.
2. put new manifold over block bolts but dont tighten down.
3. attach new down pipe LOOSELY to cat.
4. attach new down pipe to new manifold, torque up to specs.*
5. torque down the manifold nuts to specs. *
6. torque down the cat bolts.*
*These should be tightened down in an alternating fashion.
Keep in mind this is a brief write-up and some things may have been left out unintentionally.

Yeah, I tighten those, and the ones on the stud connecting to the head.
After I replaced the gaskets (really really annoying) I tightened all the bolts and studs once a week for a month and a half. Now, I really check them whenever and they will barely need tightening or none at all. For those 3 bolts, when you get under the car you'll need a good extension.
I just jack my car up and put two 4x4's (I know I know, its not safe...do it at your own risk) under each tire and ive got room to wedge under there.
