For those considering a 2013 Accord....

For the last 2 months I have spent hours and hours of exhaustive research on the 2013 Accords. I think I have read every article written on this vehicle.

My wife and I have been to a total 10 dealer lots spending ALL DAY driving different models, and also makes. We drove Acura TL's, 2008, 2010 and 2013 brand new along with TSX. We drove Lexus ES and IS. Nice cars all but just not what we were looking for. This was first day of testing.

On our second Saturday of testing we went to Honda dealer and drove 2009 i4, 2010 i4, 2011 EX-L V6 (never drove 2012) Accords. Afterwards we drove the 2013 LX, then the Sport, then the EX-L i4, but they had no EX-L V6's in stock. The i4 was nice but you can still tell you are in a 4 banger and it just did not have the road feel we were looking for. It was hot outside and we were exhausted so we called it a day. We went home and my research and my search continued on.

When we first started out on this journey, our eyes were on a white car. Like many things in life our focus and color choice changed from white to black. With the black we wanted the ivory interior so we are narrowing down our choices.

I was looking online for used 2011-2012 black models within 200 miles of my home. As luck would have it they were located 200 miles away but none close by. I really didn't want to travel 200 miles to get a used car. At the same time I am searching dealer inventories online to look for black 2013 EX-L v6 models. I. Found. ONE. NEW. ONE. It was located 90 miles from me. However, it had black interior.

Having put out online requests for quotes on the different 2013 trim levels, I had these in hand wanting other dealers to match. Many of them would not play which is fine. Anything found on one lot can pretty much be found on many other lots and fortunately I live in a huge city that has 10 or so Honda dealers to choose from...great competition.

I contacted this dealer to check availability on the 2013 EX-L V6 black and he said he had it. I asked him to grab the keys and that we would be there in 1.5 hours. He said he would.

We arrived at the dealer and both drove the vehicle in city and road conditions and we both fell in love with it. It is quiet, it is smooth, it handled great, the car is LOADED with features for convenience and safety
and the stereo sounds AWESOME. We have a Camry that has Alpine stereo and Polk speakers with 160w amp that sounds phenomenal but the stereo in this EX-L blows it away.

Without bloviating on, we made the deal, I traded in a 2008 Corolla for it (kind of took a bath on IT but I feel it was worth it). He met the quote I had received earlier and he even threw in window tinting ($275 value) which they did and then cleaned the car up for us to drive home while we were doing final negotiating and paperwork. We did the deal and drove the car home.

I cannot see where this car is any less quality and ride than an Acura TL. It is well appointed and we both love it more every day.

If you are looking for a 2013 Honda Accord, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the EX-L V6. We purchased the LAST black one in the state of Texas. I am beyond excited about it.
We made the trip and both my wife and I drove this vehicle.
