new accords owners
so the wife and I decided to get back into Honda accords (I love them no matter what) took a break from the Honda industry but with one of my vehicles being a gas guzzler (suburban) I figured it was time to get back into imports...anyway we ended up at the Honda dealer yesterday and ended up trading my 2010 Suburban and her 2012 Chevy Cruze for a 2010 EX-L sedan V6 (mine) and bought her a brand new 2015 Accord Sport (Sedan)....all I can say is that these vehicles changed a lot from what I was used to...I had a 6th accord awhile back....I love them!

My Accord has been the most trouble free new car I've had. 4 months, 13,000 miles, zero issues. My wives Caravan made it to 70,000 without any issues. My Fiesta had more problems in the first 4 years than my Neon had in 218,000 miles. We must have good luck on the Chrysler products. That said, Chrysler products still scare me. I guess that's why I got an Accord. It's the gold standard of cars. I'm done buying cars that don't finish first.

- 1999 T&C Limited: 190,000 miles $2,200 (transmission at 190,000 miles)

Interesting, we've had numerous Chrysler products over the last 20 years Funny thing, my 2001 Accord, which I consider to be a very reliable car, has cost me nearly $3,500 (wheel hubs, wheel bearings, brake calipers, ignition coils, numerous sensors, seat belt receiver, exhaust components) to keep running and I've only owned it for the last 45,000 miles (it has 160,000 currently on the clock). Either I was extremely luck with my Chryslers, or maybe a bit unlucky with my Accord.
My 98 Accord was a good car, I bought at 122k for $3500 sold at 170k+ for $2900, but with timing belt service, ABS sensors, flex pipe, end links, wheel bearings, vapor canister, etc. It cost $2000 for 50k miles.
My 07 T&C, water pump (warranty) & 1 wheel bearing, in 50k miles. Total, $400, the warranty had a deductible.
My 06 Accord will be better than the 98, so far, really just the CV Boot, and lower ball joint. $400.
Shipo add in the "Fun" factor, driving an Accord Coupe, rather than a Minivan, Priceless!

Now that I will have the whole people (and stuff) mover thing covered with the T&C (which I won't even get back to New England until late January; it's still in California), I'm thinking to look for a nice condition early 2000s Miata for my Spring through Fall daily driver and then use the T&C for the Winter months (my wife is pretty greedy with the keys to the GTI). If/when I find the Miata, I'll probably give the Accord to our daughter.
