CARQUEST stores and recently converted CARQUEST to Advance Stores are selling off Schumacher Battery Chargers cheap.

Examples:

Model SE-1275A for $12.75
Model SC-8020A for $24.95

I went for the SC-8020A since it will do Gel/AGM batteries. These are not listed on any website or anything so you have to call and see if the local store has any in stock or can order one, then ask for the price

 

Hmmm thanks are these chargers or jump starters? I just received a "jump starter" from Griots Garage two weeks ago 100 bucks charged it but haven't tried it out yet (well luckily I suppose) but I've just always wanted one. About a year ago I bought a 40.00 tire inflator which proved invaluable for a slow tire leak I had drove me crazy going to a station and paying for air every time. I finally got BS enough to bring the car back (three times) till the tire store found the leak well for now anyway.

 

What?? My local Carquest is going to become an Advance Auto?? Say it isn't so. I deal with Carquest more often as they have what I need in stock, or can get it the next day.

 

Two answers....The models I have listed are chargers and not "jump packs"......I'm old school and have jumper cables for that....but I guess if I was alone in the middle of no where I would be in trouble......not sure if they are "dumping" any of the "jump packs" but it sounds like you have one so you are good to go.

"Toecutter" - PS I liked madmax . Yes, CARQUEST was bought out by Advance Auto in Jan of 2014.....at the time of the buyout I was a 25 year employee of CARQUEST. Not sure if the store you "like" is a company owned or independently owned location.....the company owned locations will have the signs changed to say "Advance Auto" while the independently owned locations will still have signs with CARQUEST.

I could go on for days on the conversion process, as I'm part of it........once done. "poorman" is probably going to be unemployed ....so that is the part I don't like.

 

Poorman - yeah I still keep jumper cables under the seat but your right the idea of a jumper is like you said, when your alone. All it takes is for one thing to happen when your alone with nobody around. Good luck with the work situation...
