I swear by Hondas but I kinda like European as well. Imports over American really. My brother just got a Saab. With a stock turbo, its pretty quick. But I look under the hood and its all gibberish. I think if I had to choose another car, within a reasonable price range, I would get a Golf or a Lancer and see what I could do with it.
What do you guys think?
I hope this post is in the right place :P

My love for Honda has kind of diminished over the past couple years. I still have my Accord but really only because it has sentimental value and isn't worth anything to sell. While they are reliable, they aren't fast, and they are almost all FWD.
Lately I have been into Volvos. I have a S60 T5 and my wife has a V70 T5. I like them because they have decent amount of power stock (250hp). I think they look good, they are safe, and reliable. My only complaint with them is their parts costs are far higher than Hondas, both stock and aftermarket. They can also be harder to work on, with my alternator replacement taking over 4 hours. I hope to upgrade our T5s to the R versions someday soon, as they are AWD and make 300hp.
For a while I really liked AMG Mercedes, as you can get a used E55 AMG for less than $20,000 and it makes 469hp and runs 12 sec 1/4 miles stock. Luckly before I bought one I did research and found they are incredibly unreliable. Almost everyone I saw was in the dealership monthly. Also the parts were insanely expensive for example new struts were $2,000 A PIECE. And a new supercharger was $10,000.
I have never really liked domestics, but shortly I will probably be picking up a Dodge 3500. Just because there arent any import companies that offer diesel trucks.
Oh and my car I hope to be able to afford some day is a Lotus Exige.

I'd remain with Japanese cars for the reliability. European cars are expensive to repair and require alot of maintenance. The big 3 are slightly more reliable than European car's, but not to the level of the Japanese. Also, if you want to buy American, the car's with the most American parts are the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord.

Ive always liked chevys however almost every manufacturer shares platforms now. Ie chevy traiblazer/ isuzu ascender. Tracker/ suzuki grand vitara honda passport/isu:zu rodeo. They all do this . If I had my choice of cars id probably say supra 1993 ^ twin turbo,or a skyline. Out of newer cars id say gnissan gtr.

I'd make love to a Ferrari's exhaust pipe any day.. those things are just magical.. especially the scuderia, which just looks straight up beautiful..
I have a thing for Ford Mustang GT500s and mustangs in general.. I don't particularly love ford, as a whole brand, but mustangs yes..

Other than Honda, I like Toyota and Ford. My mom has an 05 Camry. It feels like one of the slowest cars ever, but wow it's also one of the most comfortable cars I've driven! Ford is the only American car I'd own, they just seem so much better and nicer than Dodge or Chevy.
There are probably over 100 cars I would love to drive. But those are the only 3 brands I'd like to own

well, if ur looking new ford/chevy would be great american cars.
Toyota is good but every new toyota i have seen recently seems to be lacking quality from older ones(body panels not lining up, cheap feeling plastic/controls)
Used, ford is good after around 2004, chevy is about 2006. I would stay away from Saab. The golf or gti are good cars but you would need to be prepared to spend a few grand on repairs if you are lookin at older ones(they arent cheap to repair) The lancer will be better for repairs but not built as well as the gti or golf.
A good sports car to go for would be a mustang gt 5 speed. they are cheap and the drive train is bullet proof. I have 3 friends and a cousin who have had the 99-2004 mustang gt 5 speeds and none of them have had a single issue except for replacing a clutch(cousins first manual) BTW each mustang was modded for more power and one was supercharged meaning they were beaten on. Just find some old guy whos sellin one. my 2 cent

I like Fords because they are fairly easy to work on and you can hire any back yard mechanic to do the job.
European cars like BMW or Mercedes or Volvo almost always require a specialist so repairs are never cheap. Why else do you think you find then on Craigslist so cheap sometimes?
Toyota I lost a lot of confidence in them when I got an early 90s 4runner and it was the biggest piece of crap I ever owned. I owned a 2004 Matrix but for some reason it didn't quite get the MPGs that I expected it to. I've owned a Previa but the placement of the engine under the van was a PITA to work on so I got rid of it.
Nissan....only owned a Pulsar and it was a bad enough first experience that I will never trust the brand.

Ford. The next car I buy will be a Ford. Nothing against Honda at all, but I can get a new Ford at dealer cost with 0% interest financing because my father-in-law works at a local ford dealership. my accord has to last another two years though (when I het the Ford Edge paid off). I'm certain it will last, and I might even keep it as a daily driver and put "little old lady mileage" on the new car (or truck). I've always been a Ford guy though. Had two Mustangs before the accord. No major problems with either Mustang and all minor problems were easily repaired by me
