Well we kind of fit both of those.....I'm getting older and lazy + messing with that in the winter, yes I hate cold, if it was 100 outside I wouldn't mind at all. Then with the wife's illness, she wouldn't/shouldn't be messing with anything like that - she would but I'd worry every time she did.

The only thing I haven't "spec'd" out is the cost of running the line from the street to the house. They send letters every now and then and state they will "help" with that cost if I switch "something(s)" to NG. I'd do the water heater without thought - it came with the house when we bought it ~10 years ago. So if I could get the back up unit, gas line pulled and new gas water heater for $4k~$5k....I'm in.

That is insanity.. In west Florida, we have had record heat waves of 85+ degrees! with heat index = mid 90's! WTF! Good luck you guys.
