as far as I know almost every accord from 96 or 97 on has a governor at about 110-120.  If you have one you should be able to buy a chip realatively cheap that will remove it.

mine had a 111 mph limit.  I installed the V-AFC and it was still there.  Before I had it tuned, I found a setup on the internet, plugged it in and the limit disappeared.  The fastest I've gon is 137.  I think is's safe to say that there is no longer a speed governer

E-Manage FTW!!!!

I have the Apexi V-AFC, but I'm not sure that it was supposed to eliminate the top speed.

I was going to say chip a P28 or P72/75 ECU, but then I read that it's an '02 with OBDII so that's out of the question. I don't believe any OBDII Hondas that new have been sucessfully chipped so an APEXi or GReddy piggyback unit will be need or Hondata K-Pro.

Just checked. K-Pro is only for RSX/TSX and a few other cars... lame. I would not buy any sort of chip out there... they are usually just stock spark tables with longer injector pulses for "more" power a.k.a burning tons of gas at no real benefit. I'd just ask falkore about the V-AFC and exactly what he did to get rid of the governor.

IDK why it disappeared!!!!!   K-Pro is only for K-series motors.

Yeah, for some reason I was thinking K series I have no clue why. Either way, you're going to have to shell out some $$ just to remove the governor and IMO it's not worth it if that's all you want.

on an 02 accord the I4 is limited to 118 on LX, no limit on EX I4 or V6....V6 stops at about 126 due to lack of TORQUE you can get it to go faster by winding it completely out in 3rd gear before letting it into 4th and then you can get to 145mph where the car stops
