has anyone tried installing their own headers? How hard of a task was it, and do you guys recommend doing it yourself or taking it to get done? Also, some manufacturers claim a 40 hp boost... Is it true, or what are the actual boosts you guys have noticed?

40HP! Ha, id love to see what manufacturer claims that. No bolt on is ever going to get you that much power. So that part is false. I think a header instal for the 6th gens is eaiser than a 7th gen (ill find out next month). Because of the location of the manifold. There are a few here who have done it, im sure they will chime in.
