here's a proposal, i have nooooo idea if this will work at all, it's just crossed my mind a few times. okay so my last car was a saab 9000 turbo (yes a saab, i know don't laugh, that's why i have a honda now) BUT the turbo did have nice pull in my old car. Now would it be possible at all to rip a turbo out of an old saab or volvo and use it along with some new piping and an intercooler for a accord? or is that a dream that will never happen?

I suppose anything is possible with extremely deep pockets. Some turbo Accord 2.4l are pushing 300 HP at the wheels! Here's an example:

My sister has a saab 9 5.  Thing is pretty darn fast!  Only problem I have is those things seem to break down quite often and parts are very expensive.  If you somehow pull off your dream, be sure to update us.

I don't see why it wouldn't work.  You'd just need to make some adapters and plumbing.  The controls would have to be set up either way ....... the only reason that it may not work is if it were originally vacuum controlled.  I'd think that you could work around that also, but it might make it a little trickier.  Also, the operating rpm range should be kept about the same.

if you could get the turbo virtually free of charge I'd try it.

Saabs reliability are horrible.  Their trannies suck.  I agree with sir on this.

Like I said......got unlimited funds? Go for it then. A much smarter move would be to buy a car that is factory turbo'd/supercharged and let the warranty department deal with any problems. A custom turbo setup can easily run $7-10K with after install tuning.
I'd love the ultimate sleeper but the funds and the overall wisdom of such an installation are both out of my reach.
