S2k is lighter, rear wheel drive and revs a lot higher.  Also, it's weight is positioned to give it an aggresive stance which leads to handling performance ........ also, the S2k is Honda's sports car and the Accord is not.

Yeh weight is 75% of a race.... It dont matter if youve got 500hp and your opponent has 250hp... If he weighs 1,000 lbs. lighter than you he'll probably win.... (A crude example of course)

Rear seats, passenger seat(if none ever rides with ya), speaker boxes(if you got em), spare tire/wheel(thats almost 40lbs.), etc.... You can also get CF hood and trunk, that would knock off 50-60lbs

comparing a 240hp s2000 to a 240hp accord lol.  one of the things that wasnt mentioned yet was gear ratio

the s2000 tranny is built to go fast, the accord tranny is built to get grocieries.

4cyl accord FTW.  easier to do a h22 swap lol.

v6 6mt accord would win against si. The v6 6mt is faster by a second but I guess it rly depends on the driver

the good thing about honda's, they are like Legos, u can put anything on them and make them run, mine for example has mitsubishi eclipse turbo injectors, a civic's SI Chip to rev higher, and a prelude's suspension (i made it fit, hahaha)... u can make a complete new car by changing things, ex: Frankestain G23!

So are we now comparing Accords and si's to the S2k?  For either to beet an S2k in a drag race, they would need a major build .... turbo at least, so for a fair race, the S2k would get a turbo also ..... bye bye Accord, bye bye Civic!!!

On the other hand, my best friend's '02 EP3 si has a fully built suspension complete to the bushings and Billstein shocks.   On top of that, he's an excellent driver and race trained.  He'd be able to take an S2k with it's stock suspension or even built with an everyday driver behind the wheel on the twisties.

s2k is honda's sport car... accord is not... that was simple, right? if accords could be make faster, cheaper, then the s2k would not be sold! how much does the s2k cost anyway?

thanks, now i dont know anymore....   it was my understanding that a carbonfiber hood was only a 30 to 40 pound drop off the lofty 100isb lb hood accords have....    but unfortunately the weight of a fiberglass hood has too many factors to it to truely define a set weight to hold all of them as.       factors being number of layers, type of weave, resin type, and a few other things

but seeing as im off on this anyways, how much does a 6th gen hood oem weigh?
