Throwing a rod was just an example I used. There are numerous things you could mess up driving at high rpms daily. You cant tell me that if you drive daily revving at 5-6k RPM's, that your engine will last longer than if you only revved to 3-4k RPM's while shifting, etc....Just common sense.... There are so many things working together to make an engine run, pushing higher RPMs only betters your chance at screwing something up internally. More rpm's means more stress on engine. Hey bro, your car, your money, your choices, do what you want

a94ex:  After seeing how you drive, I wouldn't buy your car either.  Considering lady's milage, I'd say that she's doing a pretty good job in the maintenance area.

well i would never sell this car after i am done with it it will be junk most likely i take great care of it the only bad this is a few tiny i mean small dents in the body that it had before i got it from a hail storm. the hoods paint it pealing from the heat the engine creates which is normal for a car not having that stupid insulation under the hood

I hear you .... my Accord was in beautiful shape the day before the tranny fell apart.  Then I found that it was worth $6700 and the tranny was $2000.  I wanted a smaller car that could handle better and also manual.  Now I have my Scion ...... currently at 16,300 miles.

BTW- I don't think that you are pushing the car too hard in the video.  Take a look at my 0-60 video ...... that's much harder, but the engine never had a problem.  The 6th gen tranny lost it's lip seals.

94, I drive my car just as hard as you do, but I still would not buy yours. I'd rather buy a car from a grandma and trash it myself so at least I know how it was driven. I've put 40k on my car since it was passed down to me and I drive *somewhat* like that at some point nearly everyday. The engine still runs like the day I got it. It's your car, I'm not saying don't do it, I do it myself, but I do agree with j_man that your chances of something prematurely breaking skyrockets by driving in that manner. Enjoy! I know I do.

We're noty bashing you, we're just stating facts. If you want a race car, build a race car. I would never run my daily driver that hard over once a week. Its cool to have fun every now and then but someday somethings gonna break if you drive daily at 5-6k RPMs.... If nothing tears up internally in your car in the following year, id be surprised... Just saying

j_man, 5-6k consistently or bursts? I like to mash the peddle and, obviously, will rev up to 6k in the process, but I don't drive down the freeway cruising at 6k...

is the sti driver the same thing as Escort's ZR7 shifter?  Your rx65pro is basically the exact same unit as my Escort X50.  I think I'm going to upgrade to the 9500i pretty soon though.  The GPS fuctions on it are awesome ..... no more false alerts!!!!
