I can't believe no one commented or liked this video it is a nice lotus with a k20

gomarlins3 -> RE: This is a nice k20 powered car (5/28/2008 6:06:16 PM)

Why would you need to switch out the motor of he Elise?

00AccordLX5spd -> RE: This is a nice k20 powered car (5/29/2008 9:56:29 AM)

Dang that thing is fast.  Don't the newer Lotus Elises come stock with the K20?

cxjon -> RE: This is a nice k20 powered car (5/29/2008 8:40:01 PM)

wow

slammed97 -> RE: This is a nice k20 powered car (5/30/2008 3:59:14 AM)

Apparently this is a dumb question, but what is a K20?

RTexasF -> RE: This is a nice k20 powered car (5/30/2008 4:54:14 AM)

The Elise uses a 1.8 Toyota engine that is supercharged.

It's the engine block code for the engine in Civic SI's.  The second half of the code indicates the head or build.

BlkCurrantKord -> RE: This is a nice k20 powered car (5/30/2008 9:54:40 AM)

The older Lotus's came with the Celica GTS motor/trans, now they come with the K20a2 and 6spd atleast as far as I know.

Exactly what I thought. But I just looked on Wikipedia, and it appears all of the Lotus Elise/Exiges have "Toyota supplied" DOHC engines. Unless I am missing something....

Isn't that what I said? The Elise uses a 1.8 Toyota engine that is supercharged.

And Currant said otherwise, now it's a debate!

The only thing I have read is that all Lotus come from the factory with the 1.8L 'Yota and Prototype Racing makes a full K20 and 6spd swap for it.

Here's another vid: lotus elise k20a engine swap

Either the driver sucks or that 325 horses is way to much for the Lotus platform to handle, I'm leaning towards driver. Notice how the car looks really unsteady?
