help installing push button start? - 3/22/2008 11:19:13 AM    EzraFitch1990   Posts: 26 Joined: 3/9/2008 Status: offline Hey guys I have a question, I bought a push button start for my car off of ebay and i need a little help installing it. The instructions that came with it just showed how the wiring on the back of the panel (this) on the instructions all it says is my red wire is 12v, and i have two others; a black and a yellow one. I assumed (wrong) that i knew what I was doing so I connected the red wire to my 12V wire (I have a 95 accord, it was the white wire in my ignition harness) I thought the black wire was my ground wire so i grounded that, and I connected my yellow wire to my Starter wire (black/white wire in the ignition harness). reconnected my negative to my battery and a light on the switch panel turned on! I thought I was pretty much a god, but then I flipped the switch (light turned off) hit the black button and smoke from the back of the panel started to emerge. OOPS, wires were feeling HOT, ran to my battery and disconnected before I blew up half my town. Any help? thanks! EDIT heres the wiring diagram for my car.
