New '08 Accord Coupe V6 6speed - 4/5/2008 1:15:52 PM    speedracer   Posts: 3 Joined: 4/5/2008 Status: offline Hey everyone!  I just got my first Honda.  I've already got 3,600 miles on it in a little less than two months and all I can say is "why'd it take me so long to buy a Honda?" I'm a real kid at heart, so I plan to make some modifications in the future to enhance my childish tendancies.  I'll be looking for some advice and assistance in that department (i.e. suspension, engine modifications, etc.).  Thus far, I have discovered that the car is speed limited somewhere around 125mph...bummer. RE: New '08 Accord Coupe V6 6speed - 4/5/2008 11:15:09 PM    speedracer   Posts: 3 Joined: 4/5/2008 Status: offline "Pops" isn't much of a speed racer on the highways like me.  His preferred equipment for speed is snowmobiles.  He tried the NASCAR driving experience with me on the 1 mile track at Dover International Speedway, but didn't care for it. I guess I should have put some perspective in my initial post.  My last car was a Volvo S60R.  It was speed limited to 155mph.  That's why it surprised me that the Honda was limited to 125mph in relation to the Volvo I owned previously. _____________________________ Speedracer '08 Accord EXL-V6 Coupe, 6-Speed (in reply to gomarlins3) Post #: 4

RE: New '08 Accord Coupe V6 6speed - 4/6/2008 7:55:30 AM    speedracer   Posts: 3 Joined: 4/5/2008 Status: offline Honestly, I don't think I'll get the opportunity to get this car to 155.  I also agree that there's probably not a safe place to run it at that speed, except maybe a track event.  In my limited time owning it, I also don't think it's built to handle that speed.  For me, though, it's the whole "limitation" thing.  I'm also just a big kid with a need for speed.  It's my outlet after the daily grind in the corporate world all week. I really do enjoy the back roads, though.  That's where I see that I'm going to need some advice with this car in the future (once aftermarket parts are available).  It's definitely lighter and more nimble, per se', than my Volvo; however, the Volvo had an active suspension that provided alot of balance and stability when you pushed it through the turns. I really miss the back road handling of the car I had prior to the Volvo, though.  It was a Ford Focus SVT.  At 170HP, it did not have the most power, but it was a wonder car when it came to handling on windy roads. Now I've got a car with great power, and decent balance.  I'd just like to get it a bit better so I don't end up in a field when I'm playing on a back country road.
