Exactly!  In order of largest to smallest it would go pcw, e and y, deloitte and then lastly kpmg.

I have 4 friends who currently work for Price Waterhouse in Dallas.  Most of my friends in college were accounting majors.  They all got jobs by going out and getting wasted with some exec from there on a football game weekend!

I went to Iowa State, didn't like the hillbillies. Going to a community college now because I have no money for "real school" due to ISU pulling $6k from my pocket/new car/etc. Then hoping to transfer to the University of Minnesota or Minneapolis College of Art and Design eventually.

falkore, I got accepted to the College of Engineering at VT, but I couldn't move that far from home... :-(

Good for all of you that are going, plan to go, and have graduated. I joined the Navy at 18 in Jan. of 1968 and never went to college. I can't help but wonder how things would be now had I done so. Kudos to all that plan to continue their education.

That's awesome.  Pirce Waterhouse from what I understand is the most selective of the big 4.  I wish I would have done accounting as my undergrad so I wouldn't have to go back.  Your friends sure did a good job of landing a job.  Nice way into a position, rather than the traditional route lol.

Indiana University, University of Pittsburgh, and Rutgers University.
No advanced degrees - I actually went to 3 different schools as an undergrad.

What can I say - It was the 70's.

Yeah one of those guys has some really good "people skills" I guess you could say.  None of them have even taken their CPA yet, but all 4 have an undergrad and a masters in Accounting.  It's kind of funny to me: the guy that was really responsible for taking the other 3 out with the exec is now looking for another job in Memphis.  He said all of a sudden they have dumped a ton of work on him that should be being done by people higher up in the company.  So basically he is still getting paid his same salary but he is having to do the work of someone who gets paid 10k or so more than he does.  But other than that, he said it is a great company.

I went the hard headed way.... self taught in computer repair/networking.... then I did a 2 year course for Cisco Certified Network Associate and a bunch of other worthless courses....  If I had wanted to do school I would have gone to most likely MIT (Montana Institue of Technology) or University of Montana (go griz!)

Irony: I did 8 years in the Army and got a load of college money and never used a dime of it....

Can you take random classes for ships and giggles at community college with the money from the Army?
