RE: sunroof?or NOT? - 4/8/2008 6:20:36 AM    BlkCurrantKord   Posts: 1328 Joined: 5/27/2007 Status: online I wouldn't, if the gears break or go bad in the motor, you're SOL unless you can find another one and then you've got a huge useless piece of glass in the middle of your car that if not installed properly, has the possibility of leaking, creaking....etc... But I'm biased b/c my LX came with an optional one from the factory and I hate it and it finally broke the other day. It was a custom setup made in Norway with a five year warranty. I got it through the Toyota dealer so there's no telling what it would actually cost. I think I paid around $900 (to the dealer, new car). It closed itself if you forgot and would open both as a slider and lift from the rear. One touch close and all that crap with lit controls at night. Very cool but I'm with smaglik, I don't think it's worth it in a nine year old car unless you plan to keep it for another nine. There may still be manual ones around for a lot less, they just open from the rear.
