The A/C in my 94 accord smells like mildew.  Any ideas how to get rid of the smell?
Thanks!

I am assuming you havent had it for very long?

I had that issue a few times.  Most people spray Lysol into (I forget where, sorry:( ).

What I do is crank the heat to full blast for at least 5-10 minutes to try and kill/push out all the bacteria in there when I am on my way home and shut it off just after the "heat treatment".  Also, when you are using your A/C it is a good idea to turn off the A/C but leave the air going to push out all the moist cold air.  This will prevent mold and mildew from forming.

a couple of things

# 1  forget about the cabin air filter , accord did not have 1 till 1998

# 2  if you want to fix it properly and lasting,, you need to remove the evaporator, replace both foam insulators, clean the  evap cases with soap and water, clean the evap from any debris, spary it with some ( fridgy-fresh, Lysol  etc etc ) put it all back together.. now to do this you need to evacuate and then recharge the a/c system,

if you do it any other ways,it will not last long at all, smell will come back in a short while

Hey speaking of replacing evaporators and recharging AC.....

I have no cold air.
I live in the pacific NW, it's always rainy and wet, and my windows are ALWAYS fogged.
Aaand plus it kinda smells in there too.

Will these replacements fix the symptoms?
