Here are a few pics of my Cobra hardwire job. I've wanted to do this ever since I bought my Accord, but never got around to it until today. I did it in the dark after work. So it isn't difficult.

My coiled cord that came with it, would work well with tucking and hiding. So when it's plug broke I looked into buying a straight cord for it. In doing so, I found the hardwire cord on Cobra's website. It was ~$13.00 with shipping, came today, I ordered it Friday.

I hope this helps someone out.

MODS: I was debating whether to post this here or in the Appearence section. Please move it if needed. Thanks.

Sweet deal. I saw an Audi that had a RD installed but had the indicator light in the instument panel and the unit in the glove box. I didnt get to look too much but I wonder how he pulled it off. It was pretty trick.

i have a 9500i and i bought a direct wire kit too. i just gotta install it. im gonna wire the wire into the map lights. One of the wires are only work when the cars on. Plus the kit comes with a mute button so im gonna run the wire so that i can mount the button/indicator on top of my steering wheel column.

what ive always wanted to do is wire up the sensor to my rearview mirror somehow so that i can hide the unit somewhere else where a cop wont see it. however, that would require me to buy a radar detector first.

i've seen sti's with radars hidden in the bumper and the wire runs all the way into the car. Cobra has a new radar coming out. looks pretty nice. duno how it'll hold up though.

Nice work.
I hardwired mine also.
But mine is mounted over the Rearview mirror.
No one will ever see it and it keeps your dash free and clear

Blacknight, how much did the range decrease with it shooting through the tinted part of the window?

None.
The range is the exact same as long as it's not going through a metal object.
Like the windshield wipers or something.

Before I installed it I found a stationary speed trap and tested teh range.
Then I mounted it and went back to the same speed trap and the range was the same
