Head light bulb keeps burning out. - 4/29/2008 6:18:43 PM    Aquariumjunkie Posts: 59 Joined: 2/18/2008 Status: offline So it's my mom's car, it's a 2004 Hyundai Elantra... i know, i know. The light bulb burns out like every month or so, and i NEVER touch the glass. i'm just tired of having to replace these damn lights!!! So my question is if i put HID's in her car, would what ever is causing the bulbs to burn out, do the same to the HID's? RE: Head light bulb keeps burning out. - 4/29/2008 8:52:16 PM    JimBlake   Posts: 3272 Joined: 5/31/2006 Status: offline Could be simple hood alignment.  I don't know what it looks like, but check to see whether the hood's rubber stop bumpers hit against the headlamp.  Or maybe they just make the whole structure around the lamps shake?? It might be a simple matter of adjusting those so they don't hit the headlamp so hard.  And also not slamming the hood as hard. Seems to me that ground problems can only result in lower voltage, and that's not gonna make bulbs burn out.  A bad voltage regulator might regularly allow high voltage spikes. _____________________________ '03 Accord & '07 Civic '01 Saab 9³ & '05 9²x (in reply to Aquariumjunkie) Post #: 2
