ORIGINAL: finch13 Wouldn't nitrous oxide cool the turbine rather than heat it? Last time I check N2O had a boiling point of -88.5ÂșC, seems like it would go from liquid to gas pretty quick while taking a ton of heat with it! Can you explain the tailpipe and fire extinguisher thing? You are thinking of the compressor which is in the intake path. Typically, the N2O would be injected downstream of the compressor. Upstream is usually just a filter or a small pipe to get cooler air. Dry nitrous should be injected 12-18 inches upstream of the TB to get good mixing, but also so that when you let go of the gas, there isn't too much residual N2O in the intake line to cause leaning. Dry can be injected as far upstream as the filter like the ZEX filter system, but the amount of charge in the pipework can cause the problems mentioned. Wet nitrous should be kept as close to the valves as makes sense .... still downstream of the compressor. The next point is that the boiling point changes with pressure. I think you are looking at STP conditions, where the can is under tremendous pressure. The turbine of the turbo sees the heat caused by the burnt N2O ..... and maybe also some that is still burning! Tailpipe Thing Interfreezer The fire suppression link is down, but it is basically a soleniod that lets the CO2 into some hoses that are mounted under the hood with pressure control nozzles to CO2 fog under the hood to kill an engine fire since you already have this system piped all over the vehicle. quote:
ORIGINAL: liam71234 how can i tell what hayden tranny cooler to use. Each one i've come across just says universal... where do most people mount the tranny cooler? They are universal. The car already has a tranny cooler and this one is to supplement that. You want the biggest one that you can fit in cleanly. A bigger coil = more heat transfer. It needs to be mounted by the radiator so that it gets a lot of airflow when the car is moving. Better airflow = more heat removal. quote:
ORIGINAL: liam71234 Can i use whichever cooler i have space for? Falkore where'd you mount yours? I never had one .... I didn't have N2O on my Accord. quote:
ORIGINAL: liam71234 and when you say i need a nos pressure gauge are you talking about this: Link That is a guage to mount in the cabin. I meant a simple one that could mount on the can or under the hood. It's purpose is to set up the heater controls to limit the pressure at the right point. I never trust pre-engineered setpoints on controls. IMO a manual needle in glass guage is more reliable. What you posted is a good idea though, so you know if you have more spray or not. quote:

I think that you weren't around so much when this happened, but I haven't had an Accord for 4 months already. The tC is my current project.

The place I traded it in to sent it on to the auction. No biggie though, I wanted a smaller, more tossable, manual car anyway and I think I got a descent deal on the tC. Now it has Hotchkis anti-sway bars and a couple small performance mods. Soon it will have the wheels reconditioned and my Toyos mounted, tint, taillight tint (just got the Nite Shades yesterday!) ..... I plan to build a stereo system along with a battery relocation and big 3 upgrade ..... the list goes on. Come to think of it, I'm going to go start a thread to track my mods.
