I think its a great car, handles great, F22C is an amazing motor, and looks good. However I think that its a tad bit expensive and for that price would rather have a older NSX than a new S2000 CR. male 17

ORIGINAL: BlkCurrantKord Damn, with the exception of a few, we got a bunch of youngins in here. 1. It is a good sports car for what it is and can do, but for the person out there than can really afford one (new) that buyer could also afford something more like a Lotus. Honda is and has always been about (IMO) cheap, reliable, power in their cars. It has a great engine and an awesome chassis. Its only a 4cyl and puts out almost as much HP as some V6's while still getting decent gas mileage for a sports car. 2. male 3. 25 i thought you were older then that. you young yourself.

Yeah, they increased the displacement but didn't rename it to S2200.

ORIGINAL: Super Street The original S2000 dropped in 1999 as a 2000 model to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Honda. That's not exactly true. Yes, it was introduced in 1999 as a 2000 year model as a celebration of Honda's 50th anniversary, however you need to know (as Paul Harvey would say) "The rest of the story...." The S500 had a 500 (531) CC motor, the S600 had a 600 (603) cc motor and the S800 had, you guessed it, a 800 (791) cc motor. So when the S2000 came out, obviously, it came out with a 2000 (technically 1997) cc motor. With the research I have done, the displacement IS the reason for the name. It was paying homage to not only Mr. Honda and what he believed 50 years earlier, but also to the original RWD, convertible, two seat Honda's from years past. The idea of the F22c being put in and Honda not changing the name has stuck in my craw since the day it happened. Thus my signature over there is : I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!! After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name." The Book "Honda S2000" by Daniel F. Carney is VERY informative (if you can find one) and a great read for any Honda fan.

I stand corrected. i didn't even know there were other S models, but of course, you own one and like most of us, research the cars we own. An S2k is waaay out of my budget at this point in life so I haven't cared enough to drool over forbidden fruit. Very interesting though.

I didn't know much about it... Saw it driving around campus occasionally but I didn't know the guy. Wikipedia says it's DOHC with 9500rpm redline. Pretty radical for the late 1960s. I guess the heritage is in name & spirit. Honda went for a REALLY long time without any roadsters at all.
