So my clutch is starting to slip.. that sucks. I've go very little knowledge about clutch work but my dad sais he could probably do the labour. Would it be possible for two noobs (me and my dad) to replace the clutch in my 1990 accord if we did any required research for the job? How hard is it to replace the clutch?

Should be possible for both of you to do it granted you have all the necessary tools. Replacing the clutch is a fairly labor intensive job, you have to drop the trans.

As BKC said, the entire transmission must be dropped/removed to work on/replace the clutch.  The car will need to be lifted off the ground enough to get the trans dropped to allow access to the clutch.  Unless you want to remove the engine instead...

Dropping the tranny is a lot easier than pulling the engine.

I am going to be changing the clutch and flywheel here as soon as I get my exchanged clutch disc back from Fidanza. I can let you know how difficult it was to do. It's not going to be performed on a lift or anything, just jackstands and tools, FTW.

Yeah I don't blame him.  I can imagine how much extra time that would throw in if you tried to take pictures of everything.  But still.....it would be an awesome addition to the DIY section if you did it!

Oh wow....I just noticed that.  I have no idea what happened.

I think it is because this is in the DIY Requests section.  Looks like I don't have mod status in the DIY section.

Maybe it is because I am a n00b mod.  I have no power in the DIY section.  It's like my kryptonite! AHHH!!! LOL
