Once upon a time there was a huge debate here about HIDs in the stock housings. For the record, I plan on putting DDM 6000K''s in my blackhoused stock headlights when I get around to it.

FYI - Here''s the thread .... some of my finest slacking off in the office if I say so myself!!!

I currently have an HID kit in my 06 Accord with stock headlight housing.  I have 6000k''s in there and get flashed all the time.  I want to get projectors so I get the distinct cut-off beam pattern but heard after market projectors aren''t for performance as much as they are for looks.  Can anybody give me some guidance?  Will my night-time vision suffer if I install projectors into my car?

if you''''re gettin flashed then adjust the beam lower. do you know how to do that? only aftermarket projectors that i ever hear is decent is TYC.  ppl tend to say the output isnt the best but still better than stock. never bought any of that stuff so couldnt tell you. i have retros.

Here is a question about the intensity of the bulbs.  If they offer 4K, 6K, 8K, 10K.  do the higher K bulbs burn out quicker?  Also, what K intensity are stock 9006 bulbs that are in my 1993 Accord?

Not to my knowledge do they burn out quicker, they''re just different color temperatures. Stock halogens hover in the 2800K to 3400K zone.

For the record, anything above 8000K looks extremely ricer and stupid. 4300K offers the "best" color light.

So, since I am looking to help with increased visibility on the road, 4300-6000K is a good range to stay in?  I am not out to have people look at me, I just want to see them better.

Also, are these (from the Xenoneyes website) just simply bulbs that I put in place of my stock bulbs?  Do they require some sort of ballast thing?  What I want to know is are they a simply pop in item or are there any modifications I would need to make from your experience?

All HIDs require a ballast, but the bulb itself replaces the stock one. There are many plug-n-play kits out there that plug into the wire that were connected to your original bulbs. Brands I recommend are Kaixen ($300 range) and DDM Tuning ($100 range).

yes, if you want increased visibility 4300k to 6000k is the preferred range, w/ 4300k being the most ideal.  hid conversion kits consists of the bulbs, ballasts, and ignitors.  no not just bulbs.  its been a while since i''ve looked at aftermarket kits so im not sure if they do mention ignitors, since nowadays they could be built-in.

most hid kits are supposed to be plug n play. one end of the ballast connects to your old headlight plug (9006), while other end of the ballast plugs into the hid bulb.

^^  Ballast and igniter are usually in one piece for easier mounting.  My pics above are 6000K HID''''s in TYC projectors.
