OK GUYS, I HAVE A 97 HONDA ACCORD EX, AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY TRANS AND WHAT I WILL HAVE TO DO FIX IT.

it is a automatic, and when it gets hot, the trans drops down into first gear. and it is really starting to make me wonder when i am going to shear a couple of teeth off. like for instance, i will be doing 65 mph and it will just down shift and pin the rpms! so i want to fix it asap, but idk what is the matter....

could it be the computer???

or the shift solenoids????

or a pressure problem on one of the drums??????

please help me!!

thanks in advance!

Is the D4 light flashing on the gauges? I doubt that it would/could drop into 1st at 65 mph, you would have blown something for sure as the redline for 1st gear is only around 30 mph.

well no it hasnt been flashing...... idk what it is, and it has dropped to first one time and as soon as it did i hit the brakes so i would blow anything. i think it is ironic that i havent blown anything up yet from it doing that. it mostly drops down a gear or 2, but i has dropped into first a couple of times. i just cant figure out what is wrong???????

well after chasing a ghost, and a 1000$$$ later, i fixed it..

it was the computer..... geez last thing to look at too..... oh well, for 211,906 miles it runs great.. now i just need to fix my cv axels, b/c the boots blew out from the trans prob, and i need to fix the massive oil leak...... then on to the cosmetic stuff, as in wheels, and body kit.
