I know this is probly like every other post but im gonna try anyway. I recently aquired an 04' 4cyl auto 4 door accord and want to make it fast, money isnt a huge issue unlike most losers who do these posts and really money is everything. So what are some thoughts on whether a turbo kit in the future would be worth it along with maybe an order of what mods to do first, im sure turbo kit isnt like the first this i should do. sooo any thoughts are appreciated

If money isn't an option then what is your ulitmate goal? Drag racing? Auto X? Daily Driver? How much HP do you really want...?

do a cat back exhaust, with a larger mid pipe, and consider a transmission cooler. If you get a pre made kit, then that's all the modding you really need to do. Just make sure your timing belt is good and the motor is in decent shape (compression, etc)

when i said money wasnt an issue that was because ive seen all these threads and they are like......i have 200 dollars how can i get more horsepower. I just want to be fast, like the vtec pulls alot harder already then my haha 95 f-150 but i just want it to be faster. Will a chip or programmer help the vtech kick in earlier, i think it might jsut be me being used to my truck but it kicks in at really late rpms....any comment are appreciated

gotcha.... and yeah there are a lot of differnet v-tech controller options out there... I have no personal experience with them myself though... and what mbo said is a fairly logicall route to take... or if you want to go all out slap a turbo on it... ($1500-$3000 depending on if you kit or DIY)

Yea, but i guess my main concern still is if it is worth it. Some of my friends are really grilling me about the fact that its 4 door, 4 cyl, and auto. Which yes i know all arent the best conditions for speed but my i needed a car that was in better condition for the 9 hour ride to University of Tennessee next year and she needed to sell her car. So i just dont want to put like 4 grand into a car and not see my desired results, but im definetly not expecting to run like 10 second quarter miles.

if you spend 4 grand, you will see results. As for vtec kicking in earlier, you dont want it kicking in too much earlier. There is also the option of valve springs, titanium retainers, and an upgraded cam. That will get you a good gain and it would be cheaper then a turbo. But you dont want too agressive of a profile on the cam otherwise the stock computer will start to throw codes. If the cam is done in consideration of a turbo you will get larger gains with a lower boost.
Side note, the cam with a turbo profile will also make the turbo spool quicker

yea the vtec kicks in when volumetric efficiency becomes optimal....and unless you increase the quench area...you dont want to change it very much....for 2000 dollars you will feel so much difference in the power that the word dramatic cannot even begin to describe it. for 4000 you could be looking at some serious tire shredding power. and i mean like snap some axles

So as for my friends putting down my "slushbox" or w/e you guys call auto trans i shouldnt worry about it, as well as the 4 doors, then also this is my second day driving it really and when im turning at any speed over like 60-65 the suspension feels so....tight and not good i dont like that, i know i want to upgrade my suspension like springs & shocks but i also saw some stuff about like camber kits and i know what camber is cuz i do alignments at school but i dono what a camber kit would be necessary for... You guys are great keep it coming

If you drop a turbo in you will want to upgrade your struts because the amount of power you can put through could bottom out the stock struts. As for the auto trany, if you really want to change it to a standard, it will save you problems in the long run. BUT if you stick with the auto trany put a cooler on it. That will help save your transmission, but if you constantly run it hard you will learn the common failings of auto transmission. I think I am already starting to lose second gear, but I am not sure yet. Plan on changing the fluid when i get a chance.

I had the AEM v2 on my accord before the turbo and it was awesome.

if you dropped 4 grand into your car... you would feel it. You would seriously feel it. I spent like 1500 on my diy kit and I'm dropping it down on mustang gt's.

by the way, does anyone know where to get a good turbo cam?
