So i raced my friends 96 acord in my 90 accord yesterday and i have to say it was close. We went from about a 15mph pull and first one to lead by a car wins. Our cars were so well matched that we stayed head to head till about 90mph. He waved the race off and we slowed down. (the roads here in canada SUCK) I''m wondering what cheap mod i can do just to give enough to beat him. (I already got a half @ss cold air setup)

simple take as much weight out as possible. spare tires, people :D, sound system, seats,

also just for the race take the air filter off all together, just leave enough pipe to catch air away from the motor.

also just a thought try STP octane booster.  :D

Octane boosters are really really harmful to your car. Leaves reddish deposits on critical parts of your engine (combustion camber and plugs)

But that said I''m changing my plugs (finally) sometime this week.

i would advise against taking the air filter off, even just for one race. Last thing you need is to pull a leaf into the engine. But the weight thing i totally agree with, it could give you the edge your looking for

Yes, and purge your eyeballs! In all seriousness a 50-shot would give you that little extra and be fairly cheap...

if its as close as you say, just drop any unneeded weight, add a header and exhaust and you should be good
