its an exteranl wiring, basivcly it connects the headlights dirrectly to the battery with a thicker cable  like 12 guage so that it dosent put any strain or damge the stock wiring, the stock wirings job is simply to trip the relay on the harness turing the lights on

o ok i was able to get them working now... so should i buy the relay harness and how hard is it to install the harness?

falkore24 -> RE: HID Information (7/10/2008 2:23:51 PM)

The relay prevents the ignition spike from burning up the headlight switch.  It''s an easy installation if you understand how it works.

BuntinBoy9 -> RE: HID Information (7/10/2008 3:45:51 PM)

hmmm ok ill look into it

finch13 -> RE: HID Information (7/11/2008 7:55:52 AM)

It allows you to keep the function of the headlight switch while fully powering the HIDs and not burn out the switch.

using HID in improperly designed housing = pissed off on coming traffic and you can get ticketed and possibly towed if the cop wants to be a dick about since it is illegal in most states to modify the safety equipment in cars...

I have HID lights and I think they are great and the housings were designed for them with proper cut off and beam placement

03Sleeper -> RE: HID Information (7/21/2008 8:41:00 AM)

Your stock housing were HID ready?

falkore24 -> RE: HID Information (7/21/2008 9:40:33 AM)

He''s got an Acura.

03Sleeper -> RE: HID Information (7/21/2008 9:21:47 PM)

Argh...I''m debating whether to go HID w/ my 7th gen. I have to see a couple of pictures first though.

YeuEmMaiMai -> RE: HID Information (7/21/2008 10:49:06 PM)

get a set of HID projectors made for your car from a quality supplier. that cheap stuff is crap man......

03Sleeper -> RE: HID Information (7/23/2008 11:10:14 AM)

That''s easily in the 500$...if we''re on the same page. s2k retrofit?

finch13 -> RE: HID Information (7/23/2008 11:35:43 AM)

For the record, had the HIDs in for about it month now and have only gotten flashed once. My lights don''t even creep past the rear window from a good distance back on most cars. It''s more about what housing you put them in, I''d say 6th gen housings are fine, but the majority of them will suck for HID.

As for relay wiring, that diagram is exactly how I did mine except I used two relay and two inline fuses.

03Sleeper -> RE: HID Information (7/24/2008 9:58:21 AM)

Boo on 7th gen housing.

19Accord97 -> RE: HID Information (7/24/2008 6:03:49 PM)

I cant find it know of course :( but when I was searching for HID''s I found a site that had a ton of cars in which they put HID kits in OEM housings and most had pics.  Then they listed hot spots and how bad the glare was.  They had my gen of Accord so maybe they will have yours.
