Turboing a 1994 acoord

clutch811 -> Turboing a 1994 acoord (7/17/2008 4:29:46 PM)

so i am thinking about possibly turboing my 94 accord in the future. it has the F22b2 and unfortunately 185000 miles on it. runs good and it is a 5-speed manual. i am going to be getting new belts and H2O pump. also the brakes are going to be done along with removing the A/C assembly as its a dead stick.

what else should i consider. i know ill eventually need new suspension, fuel system(pump, rail, injectors), also been told my clutch is getting a little old.

i am going to get a compression test eventually, hopefully checks out. if not machine shop. what could i do to the valve train to upgrade?

If i build the turbo kit myself, do a lot of the other work, is there an estimate someone could give me? I need a new goal. lol

also did i miss anything, advice is appreciated in any form.

Oh my...do more research before forking over 4k. Kevin can answer most questions about FI.

haha. yeah. ive tried. been reading a little. dont worry im in no hurry and well willing to learn anything. i heard that there was a magazine(do it yourself type thing) that did an entire rebuild of a car from that generation. did they do boost? maybe that can help.

im in the learning and research stage. i need pointed in the right direction.

search for the parts you''ll need...  under the thread:

Read both threads.

Admins: Please post these threads in a visible place, since I''ve had to look for them at least 20 times in the past months. They are helpful for those boosting or at least considering boost. Will lower FI questions.

Sweet, Kevin replied....your troubles are over clutch!

clutch811 -> RE: Turboing a 1994 acoord (7/18/2008 11:32:16 AM)

thanks. appreciate it. ill keep updated as i hope to get the comp test. question about that. whats good for compression on this particular motor. how close the cylinders are to each other or how each are to a certain number?

well just called and got a price, timing belt, H20 pump, ac bypass belt, compressor removal, compression test, valve check, maybe something else for $530

clutch811 -> RE: Turboing a 1994 acoord (7/18/2008 8:11:03 PM)

thanks for the offer but a little too much boost lol. i dont want to exactly have to rebuild the entire motor just yet and like you mentioned gas sucks lol. but again thank you and good luck with your sale

sUbLiMe96 -> RE: Turboing a 1994 acoord (7/19/2008 12:17:28 PM)

Well, thanks, but just keep in mind, the Apexi AVCR controls how much boost you want from 5psi-up

clutch811 -> RE: Turboing a 1994 acoord (7/19/2008 1:17:56 PM)

oh sorry kinda of misread. actually thatd be perfect but another problem for me is the $$$. got to get some routine maintenance done and save some cash and learn a little more and then maybe next summer or so. if you still got it then ill definitely consider.

KevinAccord -> RE: Turboing a 1994 acoord (7/21/2008 11:06:02 AM)

why do you need an AC bypass belt? H20 pump? are you removing your a/c?

clutch811 -> RE: Turboing a 1994 acoord (7/21/2008 11:47:14 AM)

A/C coming off. its a dead stick not even worth recharging and too much to replace plus im a power junkie and 4 60 air is all i need. the car is due for a new timing belt and water pump.

KevinAccord -> RE: Turboing a 1994 acoord (7/22/2008 8:15:02 AM)

oh, ok... Long time i don''t hear the 4 win down and 60mph A/C! LOL!
