I have a 2001 Accord LX 4-cyl and I would like to replace my AC Filter under the glove box myself but I am really worried that my SRS airbags might deploy. Does taking off the glove box and replacing the AC behind it trigger my SRS airbags to deploy?

alright so this is a new one to me.... I haven't had A/C in most of my vehicles so I wasn't even aware of an A/C filter being present, let alone needing replaced... any further info on this?

I've also never heard of an A/C filter, and i've learned a bit about A/C and i know how it works and what not. I've never heard about an A/C filter, unless of course its an HEPA filter or some other filter that filters the air before it is sent into the cabin. I don't think that there is filter that would filter the refrigerant b/c since its a completely closed system i wouldn't think there would be a need for a filter. Edit: There is a cabin air filter it should be replaced every 30,000 miles or 2 years and its located behind the glove box.

Just replaced my filters today for the first time. PITA yes, but not ridiculous. Mine were pretty dirty.
