trying to post pic, but ? i am planning strut/spring job. car already low, but not well-tuned ride. upgrading to Bilstein Sports & HR Sports. will have 1.75 frt & 1.5 rr drop. should i wait til after strut/spring install & align before i buy frt & rr camber kits (ball joints/upper contril arm)?

is that taken in an enclosed trailer? is that a race car of some sort, or are you just keepin it clean for the shows?

g6ex6 -> RE: posting intro photo & seek camber advice (4/1/2005 4:51:02 PM)

patrick - no engine mods. a real looker. i found it online, flew to see it, pondered and paid, then shipped enclosed from ny to ca. had it 1 mo. stays in garage. it has 28,000 on it, and a mediocre susp. its being too low for driving motivates my current plan. trying to move ahead quickly to minimize scraping of bodykit. plus of course i want to drive it!!! (more pics avail. can email) thx, mark

Must aligne it before you drive it cause maybe it hasn't been aligned which means the tire are gonna wear out quickly..

I could live in that Enclosed trailer as long as I had a computer hook-up..
Nice out fit you have and Welcome To The Forums..

the hondas are very bad for camber issues on lowering..when working as a tech, i had a few customers and when lowering more than a half inch...they got into SERIOUS tire issues...

g6ex6 -> RE: posting intro photo & seek camber advice (4/2/2005 12:06:17 PM)

so is your advice to go ahead with camber kits all around, or wait til i "read" how close camber can be dialed in, then buy correct kit(s)?

g6ex6 -> RE: posting intro photo & seek camber advice (4/2/2005 12:10:34 PM)

patrick - also i'm LESSENING the current drop, though i don't trust previous owner to have necessarily completed job (by adding camber corrections).

Patrick -> RE: posting intro photo & seek camber advice (4/2/2005 12:20:08 PM)

i would never lower a car with lowering springs or coilover kits without a camber kit. just because of the damage to the tires and drivability issues.

Hmmm..... nice car. I cant drive mine right now either, she is in the tranny O.R. for a faulty tanny.

I fully agree with Patrick on this camber issue...camber your ride or get ready to purchase more tires in the very near future...

i appreciate the support you folks so kindly have provided. for a while i felt like i was flailing around in the muck re this issue. happily, and with your collective help, i've resolved to order an ingalls rear camber/toe kit (1 arm for each side). also, i think i've FINALLY located and ordered my set of bilsteinsports for this project. what a joke that's become - a real comedy of errors! with ANY luck, i'll end up w/ fronts from 1 supplier and rears from another. (of course there are suppliers #3 and #4, for the camber and for the HR springs). luckily, i don't NEED to drive this thing (cuz it's impossibly LOW!). this process/project MUST be building character - what a test! i look fwd to posting/sharing and learning from some of your threads in the future.

FINALLY! [this 'adding a photo' thing has been giving me fits] . i MAY have solved it.

Jesus.... shes prettier than I thought she was.

Patrick -> RE: posting intro photo & seek camber advice (4/6/2005 2:05:43 PM)

wow..gorgeous...are those enkei wheels?

you do appear to have some negative camber in the rear there...are you going to less drop?

g6ex6 -> RE: posting intro photo & seek camber advice (4/6/2005 3:34:10 PM)

yes to the camber comment. i AM raising it, so i don't wreck bodykit, and so i can RELAX while driving it!! actually, that specific issue is how i got to this forum site - and am happy to be here. THIS PHOTO WAS MY VERY 1ST VIEW of her when delivered to Ca. from upstate NY, last month. GREAT transport group - thorough, competent, and NOT too expensive, comparitively. re wheels: Custom painted (the brightest white!) rims, Enkei Suzuka 215/45/17. next upgrade (after navigation/dvd ) may be tires, as it has fairly new Falken Zieks. ANY IDEAS FOR MORE?
