Let's face it. There are many things people do to their cars to mod them, it just seems the honda crowd gets most of the trash talk over it. And that would be fine as long as real tuners could get some respect. Aparently few have seen a 10 sec honda rip down the track. And the fun part is, it's not a hard thing to attain if you know what you're doing.

What about the guys who get wings on their trucks? Or slap some fake hood scoops on. "Ricing" isn't just limited to hondas...

I have a lot of friends who are into mustangs. One guy has a 450hp supercharged 5.0, and he is the most respectful guy to honda tuners. He realizes that people who play with cars all have the same thing in common: Getting dirty and making things fast. My other friend has a 04' GT (automatic and totally stock), and he really doesn't care for anything out of japan. He thinks buying american cars supports the economy, and buying japanese hurts it. Little does he know about all the american jobs honda has made with their factories in the States. So I nag him about his fake hood scoop and side brake vents that came stock on his car as I fly past him in my little accord

Oh no, I meant like, it was ridiculous that the guy was stuck up like that. Didn't offend me in the least and I definitely liked what you did in that little story. I probably would have done the same. People like that who are rude for no reason bug me. Hes probably the same guy on the forums who tries to talk down to people all day. mbo is definitely right...anyone who mods a car always has the same thing in common with the other guy.

My friend hates honda's with a passion because everyone mods them and theres nothing original about them. Even though in the end, even though he upgraded an engine that no one does and put it in a grand am that no one builds up. Which in the end isnt all the original cause hes building an engine, putting it in a car and then ***** about how it would cost him 1000 dollars to have a turbo manifold made for him and that american cars are better cause there are cars that actually come stock with a turbo instead of honda's which have to have after market blah... blah... blah.... And I cant help think.... youre proving your point how?
Rant done ^_^

Though "ricer" was obviously intended originally to make fun of some idiot with a japanese car, the general category definitely DOES extend into other vehicle makes. In the domestic community, I've seen people put a 6 inch cowl hood and drag radials on a car with no other real mods. I'd say that's just about as dumb as some of the stereotypical japanese cars with neons and huge wings and bright colored wiper blades. It is their own car and they can do whatever they want with it, but I've been scoffed at by some people for my old mustang (that was anything but stock and a fabulous car) just because of some of the dumb people out there with "riced up" cars making lots of noise and clogging up the mall traffic on weekends. But I guess anything you're into is easily stereotyped by the general public. Whether it's cars or anything else.

Speaking of domestics, I saw a firebird roll on by today with a VTEC badge on the side and a TypeR badge on the back. That was hilarious.

I so wish you would have gotten a picture of that. It would be my desktop backround forever.

No kidding guys! I did a big double take too. I just couldn't believe it. I don't know if it was a joke or what. Unless there is a honda engine in that firebird now, that is one confused soul.

Wish I took a picture! That would be my desktop also.
