Intakes: which is the best to get?

lewfx -> Intakes: which is the best to get? (10/5/2006 12:18:10 AM)

Whats the best intake to get?
AEM ARI, CAI or V2?
Injen SRI?
or something else?

I don't have direct experience (I'm too cheap) but from what I have heard the V2 is one of the best intakes to get. I guess that the actual intake tube is like a tuned pipe and the air somehow gets resonated into the manifold faster and effeciently. Like I said though, I don't have first hand experience. I have had experience with K&N and Neuspeed and they make a good intake but for the $10 my sri cost on ebay I'm not disapointed.

stick with the big names...either AEM or Injen. i got the v2, and it is worth the $$$.

tell me more about it, does it lag in higher rpms? does it have a good throttle response, does it help with you mpg?

Mikeyboy -> RE: Intakes: which is the best to get? (10/7/2006 11:05:12 AM)

i felt a gain throughout the whole rpm range. It seemed to pull harder than b4, and it was bit more peppy on the peddle. As for mpg....i may have lost some, cuz i drive it harder than usual lol

the gains weren't blow u back in your seat crazy....but it was noticable. What kind of car u drive btw?

I put a Greedy air intake, it sounds great, and for me made a pretty decent improvrment performance wise

I just put the AEM v2 less than 2 weeks ago. Didnt think it did anything until I got outta the neighborhood and I couldnt believe the difference. I was very satisfied. I've noticed that it kicks in every gear once u get to 2500RPM's. K&N makes an awesome filter, just not for japanese made cars in my opinion. They work great in my buddy's jeep and my friend's truck tho. Definitely go w/ the AEM, in my opinion. Just make sure u dont order it straight from AEM, they've got the most expensive price. Where do u live by the way?

lewfx -> RE: Intakes: which is the best to get? (10/10/2006 8:41:11 PM)

i can get it for $233 and i live in torrance, ca

HONDAMOTOR2001 -> RE: Intakes: which is the best to get? (10/17/2006 8:58:56 AM)

I got a V2 intake and I felt the differance. Its well worth it, but I just hydrolocked my engine. it cost me 1800 to replace it. I dont think the V2 has a bypass valve for it. If you live some where with poor drainage its not worth it get the short ram.

kevin_nguyen0862 -> RE: Intakes: which is the best to get? (10/19/2006 12:09:27 AM)

i would put a aem sri. less expensive then the v2 and less power but hey it does add like 1-2 ponies i think. you would get what you pay for.

Mikeyboy -> RE: Intakes: which is the best to get? (10/20/2006 11:44:17 PM)

if you dont mind me asking, how'd u hydrolock ur engine?? cuz i got the v2 as well and i dont really got the $$$ to be doing repairs like that

its when water gets into your CAI , then goes to your engine
