poser_pilot6 -> RE: EGR cleaning (12/2/2006 1:10:22 PM)

I am about at my wits end with this EGR stuff. After I initially cleaned the ports, the car drove great for a few days, then the "bucking" started again. So I took off and cleaned the EGR valve, and noticed that the lift sensor wasnt plugged in. So when I reassembled it, I plugged the lift sensor back in to the plug that it looked like it should go into (the only plug available). The car ran well for a few more days, but then the symptoms returned. I shall attempt to describe what it is doing. This occurs when the car has been sitting for a while and has had the chance to cool down. I start driving, and I get a bucking or jerking feeling. RPMs are between 1200 and 2500 when it happens. If I floor the gas, it hesitates like it has turbo lag or something, then kicks in and runs out to WOT just fine. USUALLY after I do that once or twice, it doesnt happen again until the next time I start the car after it has cooled down. For lack of a better way to describe it, it feels like there is something clogged somewhere, and when I go to WOT it clears the blockage for a little bit. I have cleaned the EGR system twice now, I have tried fuel system cleaner, SeaFoam, oil additives, changing the oil doesnt help, changing the fuel filter didnt help, and I just dont know what the problem is. A couple of thoughts. Maybe my EGR valve is inoperative? It moves fine when I manually press the diaphram up, is there a real way to test it? Also, is it possible my o2 sensor is bad? I have heard that it causes symptoms that are similar to what I am experiencing. Anyone have any ideas? Sir Nasty? Desert? JimBlake? Yeu? Anyone? Lol I just want my car to run right!!
