Finally got around to the turbo

ncsgoofy -> Finally got around to the turbo (11/5/2006 4:48:51 PM)

Well a few of you know im going Turbo, well i finally got the money to start. I got a log style manifold, downpipe and, get this a CT26, ya an old MR2 turbo, all for $330. Ya ya i know the CT26 isnt a T3/T4 style I already have the retrofitter so I can use it. Next I will be getting the intercooler and pipping. Does anyone have some pics of they're setup in the 90-93 engine bay. I need some help cramming the pipes in. The pipping is going to be real fun to put in :/.

well I have a 96' and I can show you the piping if you think that can help (should be very similar).
congrats on the turbo, let there be more turbo accords!!!!!!

Ya, if you wouldnt mind taking some pics that would be awesome. I'll have plenty more questions when all the other parts come in.[:)]

here you go, sorry about the daylight, but it's dark right now. Feel free to shoot any question about the turbo my way. And please excuse the grime! I need a new exhaust manifold gasket!

I had to remove the washer fluid tank (it's the yellow cap thing now - totally custom from a recyalable spice container. Much less capacity though...) to get the pipe through that hole.

ncsgoofy -> RE: Finally got around to the turbo (11/5/2006 8:00:49 PM)

Thanks sooo much. Wheres your battery? You get one of those trunk kits?

mbo1985 -> RE: Finally got around to the turbo (11/5/2006 8:03:16 PM)

oh yeah... I forgot to mention that. Yeah, it's in the trunk. Looks like you can keep the battery in the stock location, but you'll have to put the air filter right after the turbo. I decided to put it in the trunk and saw my AEM v2 intake in half and use it to put the air filter a bit away from the heat of the engine.

ncsgoofy -> RE: Finally got around to the turbo (11/5/2006 8:22:38 PM)

Ill probably have to move the batt, theres not much room for the pipping.

ncsgoofy -> RE: Finally got around to the turbo (11/5/2006 8:54:32 PM)

Did you have to move alot of the lines infront of the radiator for the intercooler?

marbro -> RE: Finally got around to the turbo (11/11/2006 9:04:58 PM)

looking at the front of the car you may be able to route the filter back into the bumper routing it on the left of the radiator

ncsgoofy -> RE: Finally got around to the turbo (11/13/2006 8:19:53 PM)

Should i put a trans cooler in for the auto.

tom15425 -> RE: Finally got around to the turbo (11/13/2006 9:10:56 PM)

Yeah, I'd definitely say a trans cooler would be a good investment.

marbro -> RE: Finally got around to the turbo (11/13/2006 11:30:11 PM)

and when you put it on you will need a little more trans fluid then normal

ncsgoofy -> RE: Finally got around to the turbo (11/14/2006 2:03:43 PM)

I finally found the perfect intercooler, for the direction im headed.

This way i dont have to bother the washer tank or anything.

TheBackRoads -> RE: Finally got around to the turbo (12/4/2006 10:33:44 PM)

so you ever get this installed?
