I'm gonna have to agree with the charge piping and exhaust size choices...
you say you want to keep the pressure up? you realize that pressure = heat...right?
try to find some flow calculators...but I do believe you'll need some 3"+ charge piping, a BAD ASS intercooler and probably 3.5"+ turbo back exhaust.

its gonna need to flow LOTS of air!

what is allowed in the bet as far as making the car lighter? thats gonna be a good thing too... if you can drop enough weight, you could probably get away with 800 whp :p

only CF is hood must have 2 seats... must be street legal... must run on DOT drag radials smaller than 15 inches...

this is for the fastest uniboy accord in the world basicly

and the reason i can turn 10k with the stroker becayse i could make a non stroked hit 13k easy...
remember everything is taken down to its minimum ultra light weight...

and 8 seconds out of a FWD isent that hard... a 300 HP FWD runs high 9s

the suspension is all that matters... and thats were the air comes in...

stop being so pecimistic

You should do a simple calculation of balance of forces and moments.

1) How high off the ground is the vehicle center of gravity? (Including all your extra equipment)
2) What's the wheelbase? (I know I can look that up in specs...)
3) Using 1 & 2, what acceleration will cause the front wheels to lift? Just a reality check to find out if you're finished before you start...

I can't see a 2000 pound car having a chance at hooking up with 1000hp. No matter how big the tires are, there still has to be enough force downwards to get any grip (weight). I also can't really see an accord getting as light as 2000pounds, nor 1000 horsepower. It might be possible but no where near cost efficient. If money isn't an issue, you can sure go for it, I don't want to be a buzz kill, but you'd be much better off working with a bigger motor. Try getting a V8, build the motor, and put twin turbos on it. Even with that, you'll have to do some serious weight savings to break 8 seconds. I just don't think you realize how fast an 8 second car is...

I dont know if everyone reads the import mags like Super Street, Modified, Sport Compact Car, etc, but in the January issue of Import Tuner there is a 1994 Civic Si hatchback. This car is street legal, dynoed at 790whp and 531lb-ft of torque out of a turbo B18C1 bored out to 2.0L. The Civic is half stripped on the interior, weighs 2500lbs with driver, and ran its best 1/4 mile in 9.96 seconds at 149mph. Also, he uses M&H Racemaster drag slicks on the track.

The cat who owns this car, Paul Ho, is also the head of R&D at Injen Technology, so I would imagine he makes a fair amount of money.

I dont know if its really feasible to make a stock bodied Accord run in the 8s. I will be incredibly impressed if you can do it, I just dont know if you can get it light enough and get it to grip with the parameters you have placed upon you.

By the way, what car are you racing against, and does it have the same restrictions?

its just part of the bet... there v-8s will be street legal... so my honda has to be streetable 2...

it wont be running 30+ psi on the street 10 max on the street

and yes a honda can push 1K specialy a Kseries a B series can do 800... highest k so far is 700ish...

the air ride will be why the car can hook up... the entire car will lean forward thus all the weight will be on the front at launch... when i take off i wont be pushing but maby 600 HP because i wont be building 30-40 PSI... its all in how the boost map is... yeh if i somehow built a 1000 HP All motor... the launch would be impossible.... remember hondas are high end... not low end... we launch weak and make up time past the 1/8th

Im not saying you CANT get 1000hp, Im saying its going to be really difficult and cost probably what I make in 2 years. Plus that Civic only ran 9.96 with almost 800whp, and it only weighed 2500. How can you get an Accord anywhere near that light if you cant use carbon fiber except for the hood?

I understand that you arent driving with 30psi on the street. I also know that Hondas are top end power. Im just saying, you are pretty much forging into new territory with this engine, its going to be a sh*t ton of work, lots of trial and error and breakage, and even if you can make 1000hp, I dont know if you will see 8 seconds in an Accord. Its an admirable goal though, and I do wish you the best of luck.

689hp 2d accord thats at the top end of the 10's Personally I dont think you will get a 2000lb accord thats not the HE, but that thing is essentially a civic, and why a CF hood? why not have a Fiberglass hood? now that will reduce weight. And theres still the fact when you get to the 1000hp point you will still break free regardless of how wide of racing slicks you are using. No one will argue with you about the ability to get the horsepower, but people will agrue about how easy it will be to get 8's.

I think it's possible to get it that light, I've scraped out some stock cars and gotten them pretty light... I believe if you remove EVERYTHING except the door skins (weld them shut) and the interior, then put in the roll cage it will still be street legal, check your local laws but I'm thinking you can get the car down to 2000 lbs (minus driver), and I hope you're going to use a fuel cell instead of a gas tank, remove your glass and weld solid bumper liners (there's a LOT of weight there....), As far as 8 second 1/4 times I have no idea.... I'm a corner type of guy.. but Hey I'm dying to hear about it and see pictures as you go along... what's your timetable like to finish this?

Also I just ran some numbers through that calculator, 2600 lbs, 1000 HP, 1.4 Gear ratio you should be able to hit Mid 8's at 170 MPH accross the line... so if you can get it to stick it is possible
