ORIGINAL: 02BlueAccord ya i agree with poser. first start with the intake, headers and exhaust. like he also said u dont need to spend 200 dollars on an intake just get it off ebay and buy a differ filter at the store. for headers and exhaust it will be hard to get it to sound like a v8 but there mite be something out there that can make it. maybe magnaflow exhaust?? then go with the underdrive pulley. i have and AEM pulley kit on my car. and then pretty much ur set with all the bolt on mods. I read through a lot of forums and I keep hearing people saying that? Can you really just get a cheap intake and just buy a good filter at a store? I am planning to get a new intake for my car also and I hear people saying get a cheap one off ebay, but doesn't cheap ones doesnt perform as good as the expensive ones.. thats my question.

Styl3zt: There's not really enough difference in the performance department to justify the cost of the better systems. Technically, the V2 does perform better, but a fraction of a HP is not really worth the cost IMO. I have an Injen CAI that's polished and I paid a bit more for the look, but I do not expect it to perform much better than a PVC pipe with a filter on it. sevillized: There's no feasible way to make our cars do the quarter mile in 10 seconds. If you plan to go beyond the normal bolt on mods, the tranny will need to be upgraded to a Dr. Evil. That cost about $5000 ..... I got a price on it 2 weeks ago. It's becomming apparent to me that the best mod for our car is a 75 HP wet shot of nitrous! The other good power-adder is the Comptech supercharger, but that's also almost $5000 installed with the accessories that you'd need. ******* Before you do these kind of upgrades, you should improve the handling. My handling is sick, so I can safely recommend any of my bolt-ons. ...... a good radar detector is also a good upgrade.

I also read from somewhere in the other forums, (i forgot which one) that the cheap intakes on ebay doesnt fit into the car unless you do a little modification to it. Is this true? and you gotta buy additional things to install it

I'm not familiar with fitment issues. I'd expect that to apply to some, but not all of the ebay cheepies. Basically, if Injen and AEM could maker the more expensive intake fit, then the cheepie companies can copy them. The important part is that you get a good filter. If you look around on this forum, you can find tons of threads about intakes and filters.
